HR Ministry Appoints Independent Auditors To Screen HRD Corp Audit Process – BusinessToday

In response to recent reports by the National Audit Department (JAN) and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) concerning HRD Corp’s operations from 2019 to 2023, the Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) has announced plans to conduct an independent audit of the organisation.

According to the statement today (July 10), the independent audit, aimed at ensuring transparency, will be carried out by a third-party professional auditor appointed by MOHR. The audit will thoroughly examine HRD Corp’s processes, procedures, documentation, and compliance with relevant laws and guidelines highlighted in the JAN and PAC reports.

MOHR is currently in the process of selecting a third-party auditor, with the procurement expected to be finalized by July 31, 2024. The timeline for the audit and report release will be established once the auditor is appointed.

This independent audit will run parallel to ongoing investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and other relevant authorities. HRD Corp has been directed to fully cooperate with all investigative efforts.

A special task force, led by Chief Secretary of MOHR, Dato’ Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, has been formed to oversee the investigations, review the JAN and PAC reports, and monitor the progress of both the MACC investigation and the independent audit. The task force will also ensure that necessary follow-up actions and improvements are implemented.
