By The countdown for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has begun. From World Super League 2: Scotland, Oman & Nepal have qualified for the ICC World Cup qualifiers 2023 which are set to stage in June-July. It was a hard-fought journey, especially for Nepal who won against all odds & won a thriller against UAE in the last match.
7 teams have qualified from the World Super League table where the likes of Sri Lanka, West Indies & South Africa are fighting for a spot the direct entry into the WC. The audacity of the World Super League is that the teams like Bangladesh & Afghanistan are through to the marquee 2023 WC.

ICC announces World Cup Qualifier Play-Off 2023
Namibia, USA, UAE & PNG who finished in the bottom 4 places of the World Super League 2 will compete along with Canada & Jersey who were the table toppers of CWC Challenge League A & B. All the matches would be played in Namibia commencing from 26th March. Only 2 teams will advance to the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers.

Exciting Qualifier Play-Off Off on Cards
Namibia missed out by a whisker as they finished in 4th position in World Super League 2 with 39 points whereas Nepal had 40 points. USA would be keen to make a case for themselves in the greatest format. With all the teams set to play only 5 matches, we can’t rule out that Jersey can spoil the party of big teams like UAE, USA & Namibia.
This year’s World Cup 2023 is quite an important one as there has been a lot of debate going on that ODIs should be scrapped after the success of the T20 leagues & T20 World Cup 2021 & 2022. ICC should reconsider playing with two new balls as the pacers aren’t able to contain the batters in the middle overs.
