COLBY COVINGTON has vowed to KILL UFC commentator Jon Anik after the veteran broadcaster campaigned for Belal Muhammad to get the next shot at the welterweight title.
Despite UFC boss Dana White confirming Covington will get the next crack at the 170lbs title, Muhammad and the rest of the division’s top dogs are still hoping to be the next dance partner for champ Leon Edwards.
Anik championed Muhammad’s claim on Twitter, which prompted a scathing attack from former title challenger Covington.
‘That guy is so beyond racist, like, everything he does is racist, the guy’s a freaking joke.
“He’s saying I’m in this position because of my skin colour, because I’m white? That’s clear racism.
“And you know who’s hanging out and associating with that racist? Jon Anik. Jon Anik, you know, supports that racism.
“He’s [Anik] supposed to be impartial, he’s supposed to have that headset, he’s supposed to be an interviewer, he’s supposed to remain impartial.
“You want to be a cheerleader? Put down the headset, pick up the pom-poms, go on the side, and be a cheerleader.’
“You wanted to lick my f***ing balls in London, ‘Oh Colby this’, but then you wanna go back behind the stage and cheerlead for a racist.
“I don’t want your kids to grow up without a dad, just realize you live in Boca [Raton], I live in Miami motherf****r, you’re not too far from me, so you better shut your f***ing mouth.
“You poke the bear, now you get the bear comes after you.”
Anik drew the ire of Covington by tweeting: “Understand acutely why Colby Covington was the backup but hard not to feel for @bullyb170! 9-fight unbeaten streak.
“Hasn’t lost in four-plus years. Just KO’d a previously undefeated fighter.
“The man deserves his respect and I don’t say that b/c he hosts a podcast w/ my twin bro.”
UFC president supremo White is adamant fan favourite Covington will be Edwards’ opponent for the Brummie’s second title defence.
But Edwards doesn’t plan on giving the controversial Chaos a third shot at the welterweight strap.
Rocky said: “He said: “I don’t know how that makes sense.
“He hasn’t fought for over a year and a half. Sat out not injured.
“I don’t get how he just slides in for a world title shot when there are other guys in the division that have been active.”
