It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Donald Crockett Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us on May 13, 2024, at the age of 86. Surrounded by his loving family in his final days, he was a man of faith, humor, and wisdom, and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

Donald served as a board member for the Chautauqua County Fair for over 50-years, two of them as President. A member of the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s Association for over 5 decades, Donald was also recognized as a leading trainer in the state.

His passion for his family and community, horse racing, hot coffee, Westerns, southern gospel music, and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering positivity. He was a beacon of light in our lives, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of wisdom.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Juanita Crockett; three children, Tammy Crockett Hutchinson, Anita Crockett Ray, and Donald Crockett Jr. (Melissa). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; Katherine Hutchinson, Matthew Hutchinson, (Jessica), Ryan Hutchinson, Zachary Hutchinson, Melissa Ray Bigelow, (John), Jonathan Ray, (Meghan), Christopher Ray, Mallory Crockett, (RJ), Jared Crockett, (Meagan), and Andrew Crockett, Seth and Devin 18 great-grandchildren Dillon Grace, Isabella, Mckenna, Jayce, Victoria, Zayden, Zadrain, Raeleanna, Analaya, Adalyn, Nora Grace, Margaret, Ellie Mae, Everleigh, Tatum, Teagan, Gracie, Luke, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents James and Mary Crockett; brothers, Wesley, Leon, and Leonard; sisters, Violet and Joyce.

To celebrate Donald’s remarkable life, a gathering at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home will take place on Thursday, May 16th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A brief visitation on Friday, May 17th at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am, where we will honor his enduring impact on our community and hearts.
